Why is Night Shift lighter in colour that previous orders?

We are so thrilled announce that we have found, ethically sourced Blue Tansy Oil. This fantastic product, is lighter in colour and may have a slightly different scent profile, but don't worry- this fantastic product is still delivering the same results. 

I think my products smell slightly different- why is that?

When working with natural products it is important to remember that you are working withnatureand all of its unique seasons. Natural oils will have slight differences due to the nature of... nature! Things as simple as more rain, less rain, more heat, cold winters, and regional experiences will contribute to how the product presents.

What’s your return policy?

All sales are final. Please look at the ingredient list to see if you have any sensitivities. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about our ingredients at hello@summerlandskin.com before ordering. We also have trial sizes if you want to test out some products first! 

If your package arrives damaged, we will happily send you a replacement. Please send a photo of any damage to hello@summerlandskin.com within 72 hours of delivery. 

SHIPPING

How long will my order take to arrive?

We process and ship orders M-F, excluding holidays. Please allow up to 2-3 business days for orders to be processed before shipping. You’ll get a notification and tracking number via email when a tracking number has been created. It may take a few hours for tracking to show updates after a label has been created, depending on the carrier.

On average, orders are delivered 5-7 business days after fulfillment, sometimes sooner. We are not responsible for any delays with carrier transit times.

How do I use face oils?

One of the best things about oils is their versatility and ability to customize their use to preference.

The simplest method is to start by applying 3-5 drops of oil to your palms, gently rubbing them together, and taking a moment to inhale and ground yourself. Then delicately smooth and press the oil onto your face and neck, allowing it to absorb into your skin.

For an extra boost of hydration, you can also add 1-2 drops of oil to your moisturizer and apply it as you normally would.

Face oils can be used alone or as the final step in your skincare routine to seal in all the nourishing benefits. Additionally you can mix a few drops into your body lotions to extend the same benefits to the rest of your body (this is our favorite skincare tip!). 

It's your life so we encourage you to experiment with different techniques to find what works best for you. Enjoy the amazing effects of incorporating face oils into your skincare regimen. Don’t forget to share your favourite ways on socials or send us a message! 

How do I patch test? 

Before diving into a new product, it's essential to perform a little patch test to ensure your skin's happiness. Here's a simple guide:

1. Pick a little spot on your skin, like the inner elbow or behind the ear.
2. Give that area a gentle cleanse and pat it dry, treating it like royalty.
3. Apply a small finger-dab amount to the skin and gently smooth onto skin. .
4. Let it sit there for 24 hours without any covering or rinsing.
5. During this time, keep a watchful eye on the area for any unexpected drama, like redness, irritation, itching, or swelling.
6. If any of these party crashers show up, wash them away pronto with warm water. If the unwanted guests refuse to leave, it's best to consult a healthcare professional.
7. Now, if the party stays calm and peaceful after the 24-hour mark, you can happily incorporate the product into your routine!

If I use oil on my skin, won’t I break out? 

Using oil on your skin won't cause breakouts, contrary to what many may think! In fact, quality oils can work like magic for various skin issues. They are lightweight, penetrate deeply, and protect against moisture loss. Do I use Summerland oils to replace or work alongside my moisturizer? 

Whether you choose to replace or combine our Summerland oils with your moisturizer depends on your personal preference and skin needs. Our active serum oils are designed to tackle a wide range of skin concerns, including breakouts, dryness, loss of elasticity, sun damage, and fine lines. Some individuals find that using our oils alone is sufficient, replacing the need for a separate moisturizer. However, our oils also work seamlessly when layered or mixed with your favorite serum or moisturizer, providing an extra boost of benefits. We recommend experimenting to see what works best for your skin and how it responds to the oils.

What's the difference between an Face Oil Serums and a Regular Face Oils?

The difference between Face Oil Serums and a Regular Face Oil lies in the presence of active ingredients. Actives are the powerhouse ingredients in skincare formulations that specifically target and address specific skin concerns. They work towards the intended purpose of the product, whether it's boosting collagen production, reducing the appearance of aging sunspots, improving skin texture, or providing other targeted benefits.

On the other hand, Regular Face Oils may not contain high concentrations of active ingredients. They are primarily designed to provide hydration, nourishment, and moisture to the skin without necessarily targeting specific concerns or providing specialized benefits.

At Summerland Skin, our Face Oil Serums are carefully formulated with potent active ingredients to deliver targeted results and address specific skin issues. They go beyond regular face oils by providing enhanced benefits and addressing specific skincare concerns, allowing you to achieve your desired skincare goals effectively.

Are your products tested on animals?

We never have, and never ever will test on animals.  

We do not engage in any form of animal testing during the development, production, or formulation of our skincare products. In addition, we work closely with our ingredient suppliers to ensure that they share our values and adhere to the same ethical standards. Our suppliers do not conduct any new animal testing on the ingredients they provide us.

Where are your products made?

We make all our products in small batches on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. 

What’s the shelf-life of Summerland Skin Products?

Once opened, we recommend using them within 12 months. Additionally we suggest storing oils in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to extend their life!
